A few years ago, I read about people who went to the RWA and RT conventions and received too many extra books. They were leaving them as a tip for the maids. I’m thinking of this because the RT convention is going on now.
If people are getting free books that they don’t want (or have gently used books that they don’t want), I have a good cause just waiting for books.
The Volunteers for Animal Welfare is a low cost spay and neuter clinic that caters to feral cats. They’re having a book sale to raise money on Long Island on Sunday May 17th at the Sound Beach Inn. They are accepting new and gently used books, which they will sell, to try to raise money to pay to spay and neuter feral cats on Long Island. (There are VAW branches all over the country.)
People can mail their books to:
Volunteers for Animal Welfare
15 Mastic Rd
Sound Beach, NY 11789
Donors will receive receipts that they can use for tax deductions. Books should be received no later than May 3rd.
Best,
Lucinda
